Dom Barry: Dom continues to show improvement in all areas of his game. Offensively he won 21 possessions and took six marks. His tackling has improved and he is playing his wing role really well.
Troy Davis: Troy was below his recent form with just the seven disposals and two marks for the game. Troy did provide a strong target and competed well in the air by crashing the packs. He didn't finish off as cleanly as previous weeks. He was also used in defence when Collingwood were kicking with the breeze.
Jesse Hogan: As our key forward, Jesse accumulated 25 disposals, 12 marks and made a significant contribution defensively with a number of strong tackles. Jesse kicked 3.4 from his opportunities; his contested aerial work was a standout in this game.
Neville Jetta: Nev played half-back and was as solid and involved as he has been for a number of weeks. Nev defended well and his efficiency by hand and foot was a real positive with 16 disposals for the game.
James Magner: Jimmy played a negating role on one of Collingwood's prime onballers and was very effective. Jimmy also generated 25 possessions, led the team for overall defensive acts, including 10 tackles. His contribution was significant in ensuring Casey won the game.
Jordie McKenzie: Jordie played in the midfield and had 22 disposals. He was typically combative and was effective around the stoppages. He received a heavy knock in the third quarter and took no further part in the game.
Jake Spencer: Jake was very good. His 39 hit outs and physicality around the stoppages was a real positive. Jake provided one of the highlights of the game – a 50-metre goal on the run kicking into a strong breeze. He finished with two goals for the game.
James Strauss: James has been a consistent performer for Casey over the past few weeks. His 27 disposals from half-back really helped set up the Casey side. He is playing with speed and his kicking efficiency has been very good.
Rory Taggert: Rory played his best senior game for the season. He had 25 possessions as a half-forward and spent some time in the midfield. Rory took seven marks and kicked two goals, including one late in the game, which helped seal the game. He is making the most of his opportunities.
Josh Tynan: Josh played a very good game on the wing. His ground ball work was a real positive and his work rate resulted in 26 possessions. Josh laid eight tackles and led the team for inside 50s with five for the game.
AFL Victoria Development League
Casey 18.12 (120) d Sandringham 4.6 (30)
Daniel Nicholson: Daniel was the carry over player for the AFL side. He played in the Development side as its game was on Sunday. As expected, Daniel was a dominant player for Casey, as he fully utilised his speed and endurance to continually win the ball. He also finished with two quality goals.
Maia Westrupp: Maia was quiet in this game, in terms of his general involvements. He is spending a significant amount of time off the field to improve his core skills and we are seeing continued improvements in his execution and decision-making, when he wins the ball.
