ON TUESDAY 3 September, Russell Robertson and James Magner attended the South East Juniors presentation night in Berwick, celebrating the end of the 2013 season.
Robertson presented trophies to individual award winners and conducted interviews, while his two year-old son Tex joined him on stage, keeping the crowd entertained.
It was a case of déjà vu for James Magner, who spent his younger years in the South East Juniors, playing for the Hallam Junior Football Club
Magner said, “As a former South East Juniors player, I’m proud that my club is giving back to grassroots football. It is always great to see so many enthusiastic players and proud parents at a night like this – it only feels like yesterday that I was playing here.”
The relationship with the South East Juniors is a part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots football, particularly in the City of Casey. This is the fifth year of the partnership.
During 2013, the Melbourne Football Club and the South East Juniors have conducted Girls Come and Try Day, Little Demons Gala Day, Coach Mentor program and junior club visits.
