MIDFIELDER/forward Colin Sylvia has been offered a three match penalty by the match review panel after striking Gold Coast’s Jared Brennan.
But, in better news, key forward Chris Dawes, who was charged with striking Sun Tom Murphy, can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
Sylvia’s report was impacted by his previous record.
He was charged with a level four striking offence, which must stand at three matches, even with an early plea.
It means that Sylvia will not be available until Melbourne’s Queen’s Birthday clash against Collingwood on June 10.
He has been one of Melbourne’s better players this year.
Dawes will be free to play against Richmond at the MCG on Sunday.
He played his first match for the Demons against the Suns last round.
