Aftera quick start out of the blocks from the Bulldogs, who kicked the first goalthrough Tory Dickson, the Dees were able to answer with the next three goals. NathanJones kicked a long bomb from outside 50, Jack Watts slotted through a nice goal from45m out and youngster Dean Kent provided some brilliance with a snap around thebody. Although Mitch Wallis steadied the ship for the Dogs with a goal, Colin Garland replied with a quick major after receiving a 50m penalty. The Dees went into the first break leading by two points.

After a poor second the quarter the Dees were able to out score the Bulldogs with three goals to one. The Bulldogs made it the eighth in a row when they kicked the first goal of the third quarter but the Dees steadied an with Jack Watts kicking two goals and youngster Jack Viney contributing one goal.
