THE MELBOURNE Cricket Club (MCC) will open the MCG on Sunday 17 November to celebrate its 175th anniversary.

The MCG Open Day is a free event which allows the public to gain rare access to the playing surface and see parts of the stadium and the MCC Reserve that are normally off limits.

Highlights of the day include:

Kick to kick on the hallowed turf of the MCG
- Pick up a map and show bag and take a tour through the MCC Reserve, player change rooms and National Sports Museum
- Challenge yourself on the AFL Playground
- Enjoy roving entertainment from the comfort of the MCC’s Hugh Trumble Cafe, Tower 6, Stumps Bar and Paddock Café.
- Meet some of your favourite sporting stars, including Melbourne past player Russell Robertson
- Win prizes and collect goodies throughout the day.

Other key event information:

Open Day will take place from 10am to 4pm with last ground access at 3.30pm
- Access to the MCG will be available via Gate 2 (Members’ entrance) and Gate 3 (National Sports Museum entrance)
- For kick-to-kick action, attendees should bring along their own footy or can purchase a football at the MCG Superstore.

- Access to the arena on Open Day is at the arena manager’s discretion
- In the event of inclement weather, access to the arena may be cancelled
- No football boots are to be worn on the arena.
