THE ANNUAL Commencement Dinner on Thursday, 21 March will mark an important part of the Club’s 155-year history – the unveiling of the fifth Hall of Fame Legend.

The next Legend will join the likes of previous inductees Norm Smith, Ron Barassi, Ian Ridley and Donald Cordner.

The elevation of a Hall of Fame inductee to Legend status is part of an extensive process.

Careful consideration is given to candidates, who have made significant contributions to the club and the overall game.

Hall of Fame Legend Norm Smith typifies this, having played and coached with distinction. He was also an innovator and achiever in his fields. 

Honours are also taken into account, along with, where possible, discussions with their contemporaries, in recognising their lasting impact on the Club and the competition.

Other important events that will occur at the Commencement Dinner include:
- The induction of six life members
- Six inductions to the Hall of Fame
- President and Senior Coach address
- Blazer presentation to new recruits
