KEY FORWARD Chris Dawes is a chance to return for Saturday night’s clash against the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium.

Dawes missed last Saturday’s 37-point loss to Greater Western Sydney at Skoda Stadium due to a calf injury.

General manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said the club would be cautious with Dawes.

“We’re taking a conservative approach with Chris, but we’ll see how he progresses throughout the week,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

Defender James Frawley (hamstring) and midfielder Michael Evans (foot) are three weeks away, and ruckman Mark Jamar (foot) is two matches from resuming.

Midfielder Tom Couch (hamstring) is also sidelined for another two games.

Backman Tom Gillies (calf), versatile tall James Sellar (hamstring) and rookie Nathan Stark (ankle) face fitness tests.
