WHETHER it’s half-forward, wing or half-back, utility Rohan Bail is happy to play any position for the Demons.
Although the 26-year-old has predominantly played high half-forward in the past few seasons, he also spent time on the wing and at half-back late in the season, where he played some of his best football.
But Bail, who played all but one match for Melbourne in 2014, said he was prepared to play any role for the team – and didn’t have a preference.
“Half-forward’s been my role the last couple of years,” he told Dee TV.
“It’s been a high-rate role and I really enjoy being on the wing and the opportunity I had at half-back was enjoyable as well.
“Wherever I’m needed, I’m happy to play.”
Bail said his aim next year was to improve his consistency from quarter to quarter and game to game – rather than focus on just one position.
“That’s the basis of my goal for next year,” he said.
“I started [my AFL career] before the sub rule came in and it was probably a different pace and I could run late in games.”
“This year, I had a really good running year and I was pumping out some good numbers on the GPS. The thing for me is turning that into influencing games a bit more.”
