FORWARD Jack Watts has been named for Thursday night’s JLT Community Series clash against West Coast Eagles at Domain Stadium.
Watts, who was overlooked for the first two JLT matches, has come into the squad, along with midfielder Dom Tyson, who missed the opening two games with a knee injury, sustained pre-Christmas.
Former co-captain Jack Trengove and defender Colin Garland, who have been emergencies for Melbourne’s past two JLT matches, have been named in the 24-man squad.
As already known, speedster Jay Kennedy-Harris will miss the next six to eight weeks with a broken arm.
Key recruit Michael Hibberd will also miss with some Achilles soreness and hard-nut Aaron vandenBerg is also sidelined.
Youngsters Joel Smith and Dion Johnstone have not been named this week, with the squad reduced for the third JLT game.
Melbourne’s third and final JLT game comes after wins over the Western Bulldogs at VU Whitten Oval and Carlton at Casey Fields.
After this clash against West Coast, Melbourne will open its 2017 premiership campaign against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, March 25.
