MELBOURNE forward Kate Hore’s running major in Alice Springs has been awarded the 2020 AFLW Coates Hire Goal of the Year.
Hore’s goal, which came against Carlton at TIO Traeger Park in Round 6, began on the wing when she shook off two Blues opponents and took three bounces.
The 25-year-old then chipped it to Irish teammate Niamh McEvoy and continued running, before receiving the ball back in the pocket. A snap under pressure sealed the six points.
The lesson here? Never give up!

The goal was one of five for Hore in 2020, who continued to show her forward class and composure in her third season as a Demon.
Averaging 13 disposals, she was also selected in the All Australian squad and earned a spot in the womens.afl Team of the Year.
The AFL is set to announce the final All Australian team on Monday, before broadcasting the W Awards on Tuesday evening across social and digital platforms.
