MELBOURNE’S Kate Hore has been recognised for her forward craft, nominated for the 2020 AFLW Coates Hire Goal of the Year.
The 25-year-old’s running major at TIO Traeger Park in Alice Springs was voted best in Round 6, before being selected as a contender for the overall award.
The goal, which was during the first quarter against Carlton, started on the wing when Hore shook off two Blues opponents and took three bounces.
She then chipped it to Irish teammate Niamh McEvoy, continued running and received the ball back in the pocket. A snap under pressure sealed the deal.
Hore, who was kicked five goals in 2020, was selected for the overall award by the AFLW All Australian Panel at season’s end.
She is alongside two other nominees in Richelle Cranston (Geelong) and Caitlin Greiser (St Kilda).
Fans can now vote for the Demons’ classy forward by clicking here or searching ‘AFLW Vote’ through Google Search.
There is a limit of one vote per day, with voting closing on Friday 3 April.
