MELBOURNE has named an extended line-up for its Round 2 match against North Melbourne on Sunday.

Following their season-opening clash with the Giants, the Dees have made five additions to their 26-player squad, naming Charlie Spargo, Daniel Turner, Bailey Laurie, Jed Adams and Taj Woewodin to their extended bench.

Aidan Johnson (suspension) and Caleb Windsor (injury) will not face North Melbourne.

If selected, Spargo will return to the senior side for the first time since Opening Round of last season.

An Achilles issue forced Spargo to undergo surgery in 2024, and now, after months of rehabilitation and setbacks, he is finally ready to return to the AFL stage.

Turner, Laurie, Adams and Woewodin would all be playing their first games of the season if they get the nod from the selection panel.

The Demons will look to secure their first win of the season against the Kangaroos in what promises to be a fast-paced contest under the roof at Marvel.

Of the 26 players named, 23 will be confirmed in the final team to face North Melbourne on Saturday at 5pm (AEDT).

Dees fans can purchase tickets to the 3:20pm match here, or tune in via the Seven Network, Fox Footy, or Kayo Sports.
