MEMBERS of the Melbourne Football Club have rallied around the Club in the wake of the news that crowds won’t be allowed into games for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19.
In an impressive display of unity and loyalty, over 100 people purchased Melbourne memberships on Monday, generating over $10,000 of revenue for the Demons.
Many members have reached out to the Club providing messages of support in what is uncharted territory for both the Dees and the AFL as a whole.
Chief Executive Officer, Gary Pert, is thrilled to see how the red and blue community has drawn closer through this adversity.
“We’ve been buoyed with the level of support shown from our amazing members,” Pert told Melbourne Media.
“Not only have we had members renewing, we’ve also had members who haven’t signed in the last couple of years come back on board during our time of need.
“We can’t thank our members enough for their ongoing commitment and loyalty. It means the world to our players knowing that the Melbourne faithful are sticking by them, and the Club, in these challenging times.”
The Club will continue to update members and supporters as more information comes to light.
