SCANS have confirmed that Melbourne midfielder Maddy Guerin has sustained an ACL injury to her left knee.
The 20-year-old went down with the injury in the second quarter of her side’s five-point loss to St Kilda on Friday night.
“Unfortunately, today’s scans confirmed that Maddy suffered an ACL injury as she attempted to change direction during Friday night’s game,” AFLW Football Manager Daniel McPherson told Melbourne Media.
“Maddy is a highly valued member of the team who works incredibly hard. We’ll be ensuring she has the support she needs to make a full recovery.”
Sinead Goldrick (concussion), Shelley Heath (finger) and Aliesha Newman (foot) have been cleared of serious injury, and we expect all three players to be available for selection next week.
