MELBOURNE defender Steven May has suffered a minor setback with the cyst he had operated on earlier in the year.
The 27-year-old returned to full training during the pre-season camp in Maroochydore, however had a slight issue with the healing of the wound.
May, who had an uninterrupted pre-season prior to Christmas, will be sidelined for the next week, but General Manager of Football Operations Josh Mahoney is confident this won’t impact him in the lead up to Round 1.
“Unfortunately Steven had some fluid build-up within the existing wound last week which was causing him some discomfort,” Mahoney told Melbourne Media.
“We expect Steven to be back running next week and we’re confident this is only a minor hiccup.”
