RUCKMAN Max Gawn has suffered a knee injury on the Demons’ pre-season training camp, but has avoided any major damage.
The 28-year-old left the track early during Friday morning’s session in Maroochydore, with scans later confirming a moderate strain in his left medial ligament.
“Max got a knock to the knee during a match simulation drill earlier today, and scans have since revealed a Grade 2 medial ligament strain,” General Manager of Football Operations Josh Mahoney told Melbourne Media.
“Whilst exact timelines are yet to determined, at this stage, we anticipate he will be available for the start of the season.”
