Today, the Melbourne Football Club announced that it had passed its previous membership record, with numbers reaching 31,508.  This achievement was boosted by the Club’s successful telethon last week, at which more than 400 memberships were sold.

The figure at close of business today was 31,529, prompting Club President, Jim Stynes, to say, ‘This is a fantastic result and just more proof that our supporters believe in the direction the Club has taken both on and off the field. But the job is not done yet. We still have over three thousand who have not yet renewed and we need these people on board. If they can’t come to all the games our new three match membership is an ideal option that still assists the Club greatly.”

In the last three years, Melbourne Football Club membership numbers have increased by 12% in 2007, 5.2% in 2008, and 6.4% in 2009.

There are still two months left before the membership cut off.
