Match Preview
In the first match of the weekend, Casey will be chasing their 13th consecutive VFL victory against the Box Hill Hawks. The match will be broadcast live on Channel 7 from 2.00pm in Victoria.
Last weekend against Sandringham, the Demons found themselves in unfamiliar territory - trailing at half-time and with backs against the wall.
The boys found an extra gear and lifted when the game was on the line to secure a 21-point win over the Zebras at home. With scores locked at 54 apiece at three-quarter time, Casey held Sandringham scoreless in the final quarter.
Casey’s opponents, Box Hill are fighting it out for a top-four spot, sitting in fifth by one game. Last weekend they were beaten by the Werribee Tigers at Avalon Airport Oval.
In VFLW action, the women will be up against strong opposition in the fourth-placed Geelong. It’s the second time in just over a month the two teams have played, with Geelong winning the previous encounter by 41 points.
Last weekend, Melbourne Uni were too good for Casey. Meanwhile, Geelong recorded a big 45-point win over Essendon.
