MELBOURNE is still waiting for a reasonable offer from Fremantle for key forward Jesse Hogan, Demons football manager Josh Mahoney says.
Hogan, 23, has told the Demons he would be open to a trade back to his home state of Western Australia and toured the Fremantle facilities last week.
The Demons reportedly rejected the Dockers' first offer for Hogan on Thursday, which included pick No.11 and a future second-round draft selection.
"Jesse came to us and said he wants to explore the opportunity," Mahoney said.
"Basically, if Fremantle want to get Jesse Hogan, they know the deal they have to give for us and Jesse's aware of that.
"They haven't spoken to us about anything that entertains us at all about doing a deal."
Melbourne is also in the race for Gold Coast captain Steven May, but Mahoney made it clear that the Hogan deal will take precedence before any discussions take place with the Suns.
"We've got other deals we want to do," Mahoney said.
"At the moment the offer they're giving to us doesn’t help us in any way."
