HIGH-flyer Jeremy Howe says he’s happy to keep focusing on his football and worry about his contract situation later in the year.
Howe, who is out of contract at the end of the season, came under particular scrutiny earlier in the year, in regards to his playing future, but the 25-year-old is eager to concentrate on finishing off the year strongly with the Demons.
“There was a bit of speculation at the start of the season and that’s one that the media likes to jump on to and get out every now and then,” he told Dee TV.
“I’ve got a good relationship with [manager of football operations] Josh Mahoney and we’ve been in talks. I’ve told them I’m going to be an open book and they’re going to know the whole year. They’re happy with that at the moment.
“I was just keen to get in and play some footy, and try and keep it as consistent as I can. We’re on the same page, me and the club. It’s something that we can work out later on down the track, but at the moment, both parties are happy.”
Howe, who indicated a desire to remain a Demon and play with his teammates in next year and beyond, said he hadn’t set a timeline on when he would decide his future.
“We haven’t come to a decision at the moment,” he said.
“We still talk with Mahns and if it happens sooner rather than later, then it might.
“If not, then it’s something that we’ll hopefully sort out later down the track.”
