CASEY Scorpions lost in a tough fought out contest to Geelong by 14 points at Casey Fields on Sunday afternoon.

The final score was Casey Scorpions 14.11 (95) defeated by Geelong 16.13 (109).

At quarter time, Casey struggled to get its hands on the ball and trailed Geelong by 24 points.

The Scorpions got off to a great start with Liam Jurrah making an immediate impact in his return to football. He kicked a goal in the first 20 seconds of the second quarter.

Casey was outstanding in the second quarter kicking eight goals to one and it went into the main break with a 20-point lead.

During the third quarter, Casey’s lead was cut back to just one point with Geelong showing some impressive fight to claw its way back.

Ruckman/forward Jack Fitzpatrick finished the game with five goals, but it wasn’t enough as the Scorpions went down by 14 points.

Jordan Gysberts was also among Casey's best, kicking two goals.

Youngster Jack Viney returned to VFL football, kicking one goal..

Fitzpatrick, Tom Couch and Jai Sheahan were also among the best players for the Scorpions.
