MELBOURNE players have spent an afternoon at different libraries in the City of Casey as part of the club’s Read Like a Demon program.

Christian Petracca, Sam Frost, Jack Fitzpatrick, Jordie McKenzie and Cam Pedersen all visited libraries to facilitate the program.

Approximately 300 students from nine schools attended the sessions, which were held at Cranbourne, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park, Narre Warren and Pakenham Libraries.

The schools involved on the day were: Berwick Fields PS, Marnebek PS, Cranbourne Park PS, St Paul Apostle North, River Gum PS, Hampton Park PS, Fleetwood PS and Officer Specialist School.

Read Like a Demon is one of Melbourne’s major community programs, especially through the City of Casey.

The program uses football as a vehicle to teach students the importance of reading, with Melbourne players the primary facilitators.
