HIGH-flyer Jeremy Howe’s tackle on Essendon’s Alex Browne has been given the all-clear by the match review panel.

Howe laid a strong tackle on Browne during the second quarter of Melbourne’s nine-point loss to Essendon at the MCG on Saturday.

The MRP announced its findings on Howe’s tackle on Monday evening and said that the Demon did not pin the arms of Browne.

It added that the tackle was not unreasonable in the circumstances.

MRP’s findings on the Howe tackle: 

Contact between Melbourne’s Jeremy Howe and Essendon’s Alex Browne from the first quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed.

Browne has the ball and is tackled by Howe.

Howe does not pin the arms of the Essendon player but drops to the ground and turns the Essendon player in a bid to bring him to ground.

Browne frees up his arms and seeks to hand ball to a teammate to avoid being dispossessed.

It was the view of the panel the tackle by the Melbourne player was not unreasonable in the circumstances.
