PEPA Randall says she’s continually learning about the game after transitioning from athletics to football.

Randall started playing football two years’ ago, after being a sprinter, but predominantly a high jumper.

“That was my main event and that was all through high school – up until age 18,” she told Melbourne TV

“One of my biggest assets is pace – that’s what I try and use to my advantage.

“I played for the Western Bulldogs in my first year, which was pretty exciting and moved around to a few clubs and now I’m at the Eastern Devils.”

A versatile player, Randall said she was keen on learning as many positions as possible.

“I’ll play wherever they need me to,” she said.

Randall said getting drafted – and waiting until selection No.121 – was “very stressful and very nervous”.

“It’s been a pretty good result – it’s been awesome,” she said.

“Like most of the girls, I kept it (the AFL Women’s Draft) in the back of my mind, but not let it consume us.

“I’ve tried to focus on it, without focusing on it too much.”

Randall said he dad, a Hawthorn supporter, was proud that she was drafted, but “probably couldn’t support her if she was in a Collingwood jumper”.

“I can understand that,” she said with a laugh.
