'NICK Riewoldt good at AFL Fantasy'. It's hardly ground-breaking news, but the Saints skipper just won't fade quietly into the Fantasy sunset.

These days, he's covering more ground than ever, intermittently taking the kick-ins for the Saints, and generally doing what could uncharitably be called 'A Reverse Pavlich'.

Rooey's last four games have delivered scores of 123, 137, 126 and 144. They'd be elite numbers for a top-line midfielder. For a Fantasy forward, they're off the charts.

He's bringing home the bacon as a 33-year-old, with a severely limited pre-season, and in a young team with only two wins from seven starts this year.

Right now, Riewoldt's Fantasy average of 110.7 is the highest he's notched since 2004, a year in which the umpires handed him 17 Brownlow votes.

The great man's round eight break-even is only 58 as the Saints head west to face the Eagles, and his projected score over the next three rounds (based on opponent and venue) is 106.

It's not out of the question that Riewoldt could also pick up an extra position in round 12, given he generally starts on the wing for centre bounces before using his remarkable tank to run opponents into the ground.

The Saints get first crack at the bye in round 13 so it's unlikely they'll need to rest the skipper before then. With this in mind, jump on Riewoldt as soon as you can and reap the benefits.

While we're on the subject of veterans, don't be too quick to believe the noise around Gary Ablett's demise. The mighty Sun averages 140 against this week's opponent, GWS, and he's too proud a player not to give that number a shake in the Sydney twilight.

Get 'em in

Darcy MacPherson (MID, $146,000): Showed the Suns were right to hand him a debut with a solid 73 in a losing cause. Excellent downgrade option.

Michael Walters (FWD, $454,000): Ross has unleashed him into the midfield and the numbers are trending straight up. Jump on.

Tom Campbell (FWD/RUC, $358,000): Giving a solid contest each week as one of the Dogs' few genuine talls. A nice option for your forward line.

Bye for now

Tom Rockliff (MID, $468,000): It was nice to see him at such a low price but another soft-tissue injury means it's the Fantasy Pig Pen for the next few weeks.

Lewis Taylor (FWD/MID, $375,000): Struggling in a mediocre team and back in the NEAFL. There'll be a bounce in numbers for sure, but it might not be this year.

Matt Rosa (DEF/MID, $403,000): Hamstring strain will see him out for a month so make the switch to Shaun Burgoyne.
