CASEY has thrashed Werribee by 105 points at Casey Fields on Sunday.
The Scorpions 21.25 (151) defeated Werribee 7.4 (46).
It was Casey’s 13th win of the season from 16 matches, and it remains on top of the VFL ladder.
After leading by 13 points at quarter-time, Casey upped the ante in the second term to gain a six-goal advantage at the long break.
The Scorpions kicked seven goals to one in the third quarter and five majors to one in the final term to notch up its three-figure victory.
Former Melbourne co-captains Jack Grimes and Jack Trengove again starred. Grimes had 41 disposals and kicked a goal and Trengove had 30 touches and booted a major.
Midfielder Matt Jones shone with a team-high 42 possessions, while fellow ball-winners Alex Neal-Bullen (37 touches and two goals) and Viv Michie (35) continued their outstanding VFL seasons.
Neal-Bullen had flown back from Adelaide to play the match, as he was an emergency for Melbourne in its 40-point win over Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
Duo Jay Kennedy-Harris (26 disposals and three goals) and Christian Salem (21 touches and two goals), whose seasons have been interrupted by hamstring and illness respectively, continued their fine comeback form.
Rookie Mitch White (29 disposals and two goals), tough-nut Ben Kennedy (27 and one), defender-turned-forward Dean Terlich (23 possessions) and big man Chris Dawes (three goals) were also strong contributors.
Casey heads to the Cattery next Sunday to take on Geelong at 11am.
