VERSATILE tall Sam Frost says Melbourne’s 29-point win over Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday took a while to sink in.
Frost said the positivity generated from the team’s first win over the Hawks in 10 years was something that didn’t register initially.
“It’s been good and really positive,” he said.
“It was a really important game for us to win in our journey, so it’s a good vibe around the club at the moment.
“We were just so excited and it’s been a really good feeling and it’s just given us a lot of belief going forward, so it’s good times.”
Frost said Monday’s review of the match didn’t deviate from most weeks.
“We tried to keep it pretty standard to what we do most weeks, so there was a lot of positive stuff, but there was some stuff we’re still working on.”
“It was a pretty normal review, but the coaches were in a pretty good mood.”
Looking ahead to this Saturday night’s clash against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, Frost said it was another genuine challenge and one the team was eager to tackle.
“It’s a big one for us, needing to back up from a good win,” he said.
“We’ve struggled in the past to get good games in a row, so I think it’s pretty important for us.
“It’s going to say a lot about where we’re at, coming off a big win, so we’re looking forward to the challenge, but we’re preparing the same as we did last week and looking forward to it.”
