CASEY has lost its first match of the season after going down to Williamstown by 44 points.

The Scorpions 11.4 (70) lost to the Seagulls 17.12 (114) at Casey Fields on Saturday night.

Former Melbourne co-captain Jack Trengove won 30 disposals, with midfielders Viv Michie (28) and Christian Petracca (26) among the other key ball winners.

First-year Melbourne player Liam Hulett booted a team-high four goals.

Trengove, tall forward Sam Weideman and big man Max King chipped in with two goals each.

Another former co-captain Jack Grimes also booted a goal.
