DEFENDER Colin Garland has been placed on the long-term injury list, with a replacement yet to be named.
The club confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Garland, who will miss the rest of the season with an injured anterior cruciate ligament, had been moved on the LTI.
Garland suffered the injury playing for Casey in a VFL practice match on the weekend before round one.
The 28-year-old has played 141 matches for Melbourne since making his AFL debut in round five, 2007 against the Sydney Swans at the SCG.
He finished second in Melbourne’s best and fairest award in 2013 and was a NAB AFL Rising Star nominee in 2008.
