ON TUESDAY, VWFL ambassadors Brad Green and Matthew Bate attended the 2011 VWFL State team jumper presentation at the Mercure hotel in Melbourne.

Green and Bate addressed the state team ahead of its trip to Adelaide to participate in the 2011 National AFL Women’s championship.
Speaking about the opportunity to play representative football, Green spoke about representing Tasmania and Australia.

"It is a privilege to have the opportunity to play representative football, and every time you pull on the jumper you should feel proud," Green said.

Green and Bate also presented the girls with their 'Big V' jumpers and playing kits, plus a letter of support from Melbourne president Jim Stynes.

The VWFL state team kicks off its national championship campaign with a game against Western Australia on Tuesday, June 7 at City Mazda Stadium.

VU St Albans player Shannon McFerran was named captain of the side, which will be aiming to remain undefeated over the history of the championship.
