THE Melbourne Football Club is pleased to announce that world-leading online trading provider IG has extended its partnership with the club for a further two seasons.
IG’s logo will continue to be present on the coaching staff’s uniform until the end of the 2020 season, with the partnership running for six consecutive years in total.
IG Head of Asia Pacific and Africa, Kevin Algeo, believes the partnership with Melbourne has been an integral part in growing IG’s Australian client base, while also sharing in the club’s journey.
“With more than 40 years of trading experience and with offices across 13 countries, IG is an established leader in many global markets, but is a challenger brand here in Australia,” Algeo said.
“Since 2015 when IG joined as partners with Melbourne, the club’s ‘stocks’ have only risen and as an organisation, IG is very proud of the club’s challenger spirit and to have been part of this journey throughout the past few years and beyond.”
On the back of the partnership, every Melbourne member who creates an IG Share Trading account and trades with the UK established Australian regulated business will be directly contributing to the club’s High Performance Program.
“We make a commitment, whereby 50% of commissions made by Melbourne members goes back directly to the club,” Algeo said.
“With over 190,000 clients worldwide, we understand the importance of delivering a product that is secure, accessible but most importantly for Demons’ fans, that helps your club.”
Melbourne senior coach, Simon Goodwin, believes IG’s re-commitment is a strong sign of the club’s ability to attract and retain strong global partners.
“IG operates in over 15,000 markets across the world and is seen as a leading CFD provider in Australia,” Goodwin said.
“A truly global brand, IG’s ability to think locally and to tap into our core audiences’ love of football through its 50% commission back structure on share trading is a credit to their organisation.”
“A high-quality product backed by years of experience that also supports our football department every time members use their product – for me, that’s a strong commitment by IG to our partnership.”
