MAX Gawn continues to lead this year’s AFL Coaches Association votes.
The ruckman polled nine votes against the Adelaide Crows at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night to lead with 80 votes – two clear of Carlton’s Patrick Cripps and Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell, who are both on 78 votes.
Roo Shaun Higgins is next on 64 votes, followed by another Demon, Clayton Oliver, who polled nine votes against the Crows and is now in fourth place on 62 votes.
Gawn had an equal career-best 66 hit outs against the Crows, while Oliver had a team-high 31 disposals.
The duo remains strong All-Australian contentions, with Gawn right in the mix for this year’s Brownlow Medal.
Other vote-getters for Melbourne this round were Tom McDonald, Jordan Lewis and Alex Neal-Bullen.
