NEVILLE Jetta says Melbourne is ready for its clash against reigning Grand Finalists Adelaide at TIO Traeger Park on Sunday.
Jetta said his side had been preparing strongly for this clash – now an important match on the AFL fixture – in the heart of Australia. Speaking shortly before the game, Jetta said his team was primed for the match.
“I think we’re ready,” he told Melbourne Media.
“We’ve built over the past three, four or five weeks – ever since that Hawthorn game. We took those little chinks out of that armour and we’re really trying to build going forward as a team and individually as well.”
Jetta said this match had significant meaning for him.
“It’s always a build-up, especially for me, being an Indigenous player, around Indigenous round,” he said.
“There is a lot to go into the week, especially when there is a bit more media stuff for me to do.
“The build-up is a bit different, but I’m just trying to keep it the same and it’s great to see the recognition and the different cultures being brought out through footy clubs.
“It’s awesome to see.”
Jetta said he was also looking forward to lining-up on up on good mate and Adelaide star Eddie Betts.
“I always like to come up against him – he always brings out my best footy,” he said.
