MELBOURNE’S annual Family Day will return to the MCG for the first time since 2008, when it’s held on Sunday, March 4.
Family Day, which has been held at Luna Park since 2009, will return home, as the event continues to grow.
Melbourne chief executive Peter Jackson said he was delighted to announce that the Family Day was back at the ‘G.
“I’m pleased to advise that this year’s Family Day event will be held at our spiritual home, the MCG, occupying the areas in Yarra Park outside gates 2 and 3,” he said.
“Family Day has been held at Luna Park since 2009. Returning the Family Day event to the MCG supports our brand and fan growth ambitions.
“It allows greater space to cater for a bigger crowd, is more accessible to new audiences, provides fans with easier access to players for photos and autographs and allows greater opportunities for club partners to engage with our audience.”
All players from Melbourne’s AFL and AFLW teams will be in attendance and there will be a variety of activities, prizes and giveaways for kids and families.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
