CASEY Demons VFL/VFLW football operations manager Matt Young has resigned.
General manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said Young had made a strong contribution to Casey.
“Matt has been an important component of the improvements to the football program at Casey Demons and the strong relationship we enjoy,” he said.
“The club is now well-placed to maximise the increased investment in the community and look forward to an exciting year.
“The search for a replacement for Matt will start immediately as we look forward to an exciting 2018.
“This season we will enjoy new changerooms and facilities at Casey Fields, watch the Casey Demons VFLW inaugural season and celebrate a number of new and exciting commercial partners.”
Casey Demons president David Dillon praised Young’s contribution after eight and a half years with the club.
“Matthew was a magnificent servant of the club over this period and was a key driver in developing and improving the club towards success and stability through some challenging and changing times,” he said.
“On behalf of the club, I thank Matthew for his service and wish him well in the future.
“We look forward to the new incumbent continuing Matthew’s standards of excellence in the club’s football operations.”
Previously, Young played 118 AFL matches with Hawthorn (21 appearances from 1994-95) and St Kilda (97 games from 1996-2001).
