Melbourne Football Club and Victorian Multicultural Commission celebrate partnership with newly launched TVC ‘Your Town, Your Team’
MELBOURNE has released a new television commercial featuring some of the club’s most diverse and passionate fans, as it celebrates Cultural Diversity Week.
The TVC reflects the diversity of Melbourne fans with simple yet powerful dialogue from its supporters.
The TVC will be released through Melbourne and Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) channels, along with premier showings at the Victorian Multicultural Festival and Melbourne’s round one clash against Geelong on Sunday. It will then integrate into the club’s broader plans in the lead-up to the Welcome Game on July 1.
Melbourne General Manager of Marketing and Growth, Ryan Earles, said: “We wanted to create a TVC, which accurately reflects our supporter base and celebrates our connection to the city.”
“Our supporters are everyday Melbournians, they are the backbone of Victoria’s thriving economy and contribute in countless colourful ways to make our city the vibrant capital it is.”
“This coming weekend provides a powerful, tangible example of our standing within the city. As a club, we will have a premier presence at the Victorian Multicultural Festival on Saturday afternoon, before we welcome all our members and supporters back to the MCG to open our AFL season against Geelong”.
Victorian Multicultural Commission Chairperson Helen Kapalos said: “Melbourne and the VMC are partners in championing diversity. The club’s vision aspires to reflect Melbourne’s newest residents while at the same time enfolding them into the tradition and history of the world’s oldest professional club of any football code. Melbourne’s commitment to inclusivity has been demonstrated through last year’s inaugural Welcome Game, sponsorship of Cultural Diversity Week and now this fantastic TVC. We look forward to the future of the partnership and providing everyone access to our iconic game.”
Victoria’s Multicultural Festival is the highlight of Cultural Diversity Week presenting an incredible day of food, music, dance, art, design and activities for people of all ages.
