MELBOURNE has been forced to withdraw Sam Weideman from its Round 17 team, as the key forward has succumbed to a calf injury in the lead up to this Sunday’s game.
The Dees have made three changes to their side to take on the Western Bulldogs, with Tom McDonald (knee) and Marty Hore (collarbone) also set to miss with injury.
As announced on Thursday night, Demon trio Max Gawn, Neville Jetta and Jake Lever will all be returning from injury this weekend.
These forced changes leave Melbourne with a small forward line, as Braydon Preuss looks to be the key target inside 50.
This weekend’s clash with the Dogs will be the Demons’ first game at Marvel Stadium for the season, with a brotherly match-up between Kyle and Josh Dunkley set to cause some excitement.
There will also be plenty of pre-game entertainment, with the Casey Demons playing a precursor at the venue against Footscray in the VFL, kicking off from 11:30am.
