MELBOURNE has named its 26-man team for Sunday’s JLT Community Series clash with Richmond in Shepparton.

In exciting news, forward Tom McDonald will be given the opportunity to step up and take over captaincy duties for Melbourne.

McDonald will lead a side that will include five off-season recruits in Braydon Preuss, James Jordon, Marty Hore, Corey Wagner and Tom Sparrow.

Max Gawn, Neville Jetta, Michael Hibberd and Aaron vandenBerg have been named as emergencies for the clash.

The match kicks off at 4.40pm AEDT on Sunday.
