CASEY Demons senior coach Jade Rawlings has provided an update on his team ahead of the 2019 season.
The Demons finished second on the VFL ladder last year and fell 10 points short of Grand Final success against the Box Hill Hawks.
The club has been able to retain a host of talent over the off-season to prepare for a shot at the VFL premiership this season.
A word from the coach:
“After a successful 2018, we have been very pleased with the commitment of our players who have been with us over the last 12 months,” Rawlings told Melbourne Media.
“We have been able to retain the services of several senior players in Jack Hutchins, Jay Lockhart, Jimmy Munro, Cory Machaya, Cory Stockdale, Mitch Lewis, Mitch White and Mitch Gent.
“We have also been able to secure the services of former Casey player and Port Melbourne premiership player, Luke Tynan.
“Other signings include Tom McCaffrey from Wodonga, Liam Buxton-Wales from Vermont and Anthony Vella from Port Melbourne.
“We have also been able to sign former Dandenong Stingrays players Jai Taylor and Matthew Gahan.
“Nick Lowden from Gippsland Power has also impressed with his work ethic and will be on our list for 2019.
“Retention of our 2018 list was a key priority and we are very pleased to have retained so many of our valued players, while adding some mature aged players and young players from the TAC cup program for season 2019.”
