THE King Gee Trademark Players of the Week have been announced by VFL coach Jade Rawlings and VFLW coach Damien Keeping.
For the women, Alicia Johnson has been selected following the round eight win against Essendon.
Coach Damien Keeping commended Johnson for her versatility after the match.
“Having started the season in a defensive position, Alicia was thrown a new challenge of playing a role on the wing against the Bombers,” Keeping said.
“Over the past few games she has continued to grow her understanding of the position and through maintaining a narrow focus on her opportunities to improve her game, Alicia is now fulfilling her role for the team on a consistent basis.
“Alicia’s game on the weekend was reward for the hard work and commitment she has displayed over the first half of the season.”
In a clear sign of his consistency this season, Corey Wagner has been selected by Jade Rawlings for the third time in 2018.
The former North Melbourne player had 27 disposals for Casey in the win.
“Corey has had an excellent month of footy. He is giving plenty to his team mates with his voice and instruction, his running and his ball use. He also has a consistent team first approach to his footy,” Rawlings said.
Wagner and Johnson will receive $150 King Gee vouchers.
