Dear Members,

The 2024 Board election presents an important opportunity for you to help shape the future of the Melbourne Football Club. Tomorrow you will receive an email from CorpVote with instructions on how to cast your vote. This is your chance to contribute to a united, stable and successful future for our club.

This year nine members have nominated to fill four available Board positions. Among them, the Board strongly endorses the following individuals for election or re-election:

  • Sally Freeman– Current Board Member and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Integrity Committee, bringing exceptional expertise in risk management, finance and governance.
  • Dr. Angela Williams – Current Board Member.  A medical doctor and qualified lawyer with extensive experience in AFL programs, Dr. Williams brings exceptional expertise in physical, mental and social health, governance and sports administration.
  • Chris Barlow – Decades of experience in retail, property and financial investment, offering stakeholder engagement capabilities to help deliver the funding for the Caulfield home base and fresh perspectives on growing our membership base.
  • Steven Smith – Former Melbourne player and Melbourne Cricket Club President, with a decorated legal career, extensive board and leadership experience and a lifelong connection to our club.

The Board has conducted a thorough process to select these high calibre individuals to ensure we have the right mix of skills, experience, diversity and passion needed to guide the club forward.

This election is about unity and stability. On behalf of the Board, I urge you to review the candidate profiles and cast your vote.

This is your moment to make a difference. Every vote matters. By supporting these endorsed candidates, you are helping to secure a strong foundation for the Melbourne Football Club’s future.
