INS – Colvin
OUTS – S.Taylor (omitted)

NARRM has made one change to its starting side as it prepares to head north to face Hawthorn.

The Dees will travel to Cazalys Stadium in Cairns for their Thursday night blockbuster clash with the Hawks, calling upon defender Gab Colvin to re-enter the line-up.

Colvin missed the previous two games due to concussion, but after clearing protocols, was selected to take on Hawthorn.

Saraid Taylor has been omitted and joins Jemma Rigoni and Lily Johnson on the emergency list for Thursday.

The Week 9 game will kick off AFLW’s Indigenous Round, a two-week period in which the competition celebrates and acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their contributions to the country and sport of football.

The Dees have once again taken on the name of Narrm Football Club, rebranding to the traditional Aboriginal name of Melbourne, coming from Woi wurrung – the language spoken by the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation.

Narrm will wear its 2024 Indigenous guernsey across Weeks 9 and 10, the meaningful design created by Arabana and Kokatha artist Mali Isabel.

The artwork is centred around a heart and speaks to the journey of her brother KC, who underwent a heart transplant in 2020 after suffering from cardiomyopathy.

Through her intricate design, Mali highlights her culture, KC’s resilience and her family’s connection to the Dees.

You can see Narrm run out in the special jumper on Thursday from 7:45pm (AEDT).
