MELBOURNE’S Marty Hore will pull on the red and blue again in 2025, signing a one-year contract extension with the club.
Hore, who rejoined Melbourne via the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period last year, agreed to terms on Wednesday, following a strong return to the club he called home between 2019 and 2021.
Adding to the Demons’ defensive stocks, the 28-year-old managed six senior games this past season, while he also represented Casey on seven occasions.
Melbourne AFL List Manager Tim Lamb said the club was thrilled to extend his time in the red and blue.
“We’ve been really impressed by Marty, since he returned to the club,” Lamb said.
“He arrived with a great attitude and willingness to learn, and has embraced every challenge that has come his way, including a couple of injury setbacks this season.
“Marty is continuing to improve in all areas of his game, and we look forward to him having great impact for us in 2025.”
Hore was first selected by Melbourne with pick No.56 in the 2018 National Draft, making his AFL debut the following year. He went on to play 14 senior games before being delisted at the end of 2021.
He earned another opportunity at Melbourne following strong seasons for North Melbourne and Williamstown in the VFL, claiming back-to-back selection in the VFL Team of the Year.
Hore will form part of the Demons’ rookie list for season 2025, while the experienced Jake Melksham has been upgraded to the senior list.
