LAST TIME WE MET

Round 2, 2022 S6 | Richmond v Melbourne @ Swinburne Centre
It’s been a few seasons since these two teams last met, having not played each other since January of 2022. The Dees

Despite trailing at the first break, Melbourne put together a five-goal second quarter to push to a comfortable lead at halftime. Alyssa Bannan produced an inspired goal of the year nomination, while Kate Hore and Tayla Harris kicked two goals apiece.

The Tigers continued their fight, with strong displays from Katie Brennan and Tessa Lavey, but were unable to hold off the Dees with the final scoreline 8.6 (54) to 6.2 (38).

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Tyla Hanks | Melbourne
Hanks has shown over the past two games that her impact in the contest is integral to Melbourne's winning ability. This was further proven on Sunday with the return of fellow inside-mid Olivia Purcell, with the duo back together and back to their best work in the stoppage.

Over Melbourne's last two games, the midfielder has been among her side's top players, collecting a total of 46 disposals, 25 contested possessions and 15 clearances across the Week 7 matches. If she continues this form on Saturday, Richmond's midfield will have plenty to handle.

Katie Brennan | Richmond
A Richmond stalwart, Brennan has put together yet another impressive individual campaign in 2024. The 174cm forward has kicked nine goals across her seven games this year and is proving further strength in the aerial contest, averaging close to four marks a match, a career high for the Tiger.

Richmond' forward line has shown how powerful they can be in 2024, so Melbourne's defenders will have a challenge on their hands, captain Brennan at the forefront of this Saturday task.
