Purcell is set to play her first official game of 2024, having suffered a facial injury during her side’s pre-season campaign. The midfielder will be a huge addition to Melbourne's line-up, known for her unrelenting pressure in the contest and slick skills across the ground.
When these two sides last met, Purcell was instrumental with 27 disposals and no doubt will be eager to hit the ground running in her first outing of the year.
Jamie Lambert | St Kilda
Lambert and her years of experience have provided St Kilda with a plethora of exciting moments these past two seasons, having moved across from Collingwood at the end of 2022. The explosive midfielder is currently putting together an impressive individual campaign, her 2024 averages including 20 disposals, seven tackles and five clearances.
If the Saints are to get the four points on Sunday, it'll be up to the likes of Lambert to give their forwards useful entries with Jesse Wardlaw and Darcy Guttridge eager to get create scoreboard impact.
