THIS weekend Alyssa Bannan will become the youngest player in AFLW history to play 50 games.
At 22 years old, the Demon reaches the milestone ahead of Belle Dawes, who currently holds the record, Bannan beating out the Lion by just nine days.

Having first arrived at the club during the 2020 Draft, the No.5 pick made a quick impact at the Dees, the speedy forward showing her skills from as early as Round 1, 2021.
Since then, she hasn’t missed a game, playing in all possible matches from her initial debut.
Over her 49 games so far, Bannan has kicked 41 goals including a personal record of five majors during Round 7 last season.
The Demon will run out for the 50th time on Saturday when Melbourne hosts Brisbane at Casey Fields.
Joining senior coach Mick Stinear in a press conference ahead of the match, Bannan was grateful for the experience she’s had at the Dees.
“It’s been an absolute privilege to play for Melbourne,” Bannan said.
“Reflecting on when I got drafted in 2020, the journey from then to now has been amazing and I’ve learned so much.
“So, I’m very excited to be able to celebrate 50 on the weekend.”
Stinear also took the opportunity to highlight the young forward, praising her for the work she’s put in to date.
“To play every game since she’s come through the doors, it’s quite remarkable,” Stinear said.
“It’s a testament to Banno’s professionalism and how she trains.
“We’re excited for this week and what’s to come this season.”
