Melbourne’s Co-Principal Partner Zurich is once again giving back to community football for the fourth year in a row, with their new initiative ‘Grassroots to Greatness’.

Launched in 2021, Zurich has previously run the ‘Goals for Good’ campaign to support AFLW and community sport.

Over the last three years, Zurich has donated over 233 footy packs to community clubs across Australia.

Now, Zurich is bolstering their support of grassroots sports participation, offering a $1,000 community grant to a local football club from across Australia for each AFLW game the Dees play this season.

With 11 games in the home-and-away season and four rounds of finals, it’s greater enticement for the AFLW team to play deep into November and December.

Linda Griffin, Head of Brand, Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Zurich Australia & New Zealand said that Zurich has a proud history of supporting women’s sport and community-driven initiatives.

“Grassroots for Greatness plays an important role in encouraging participation at the grassroots level through local clubs which are often at the heart of communities.

“We are proud to continue our support for this fantastic initiative for the fourth year running.”

Chris Kearon, Melbourne’s Chief Commercial Officer, was pleased to have Zurich on board once again supporting participation in sport, from grassroots to the highest level.

“Zurich has long been a proud supporter of women’s sport, particularly of the junior teams and pathways to AFL and AFLW.

“We’re thrilled that Zurich have committed to investing into the community, and are looking forward to getting more funding to grassroots clubs this coming season and inspiring the next generation of players.”
