MELBOURNE will write the latest chapter of its Collingwood rivalry with a prime time, Friday night blockbuster at the MCG.

The eyes of the entire league will be following the clash closely, with the Magpies and Melbourne just one and two matches adrift from the top eight with three rounds of football to play.

The ball will bounce at 7:40pm local time on Friday, August 23, with AFL CEO Andrew Dillon announcing that the Kids Go Free in Victoria offer will extend to the final round.

“One of the most competitive seasons in our games history is coming to a thrilling end, with the Round 24 fixture delivering an appropriate crescendo to our home and away season,” he said.

“Access and affordability are key pillars of our AFL operations, and I want to thank the Victorian Government and Minister Dimopoulous for helping us deliver on that promise for families wanting to attend the last of the Victorian home and away matches in 2024.”
