INS – Gawn, Woewodin, Laurie
OUTS – Tholstrup (conc.), Salem (inj.), Sparrow (omitted)

THE DEES will receive a major boost this weekend when they face the Giants with the return of skipper Max Gawn.

Gawn has been sidelined since Round 17 due to an ankle injury but has successfully passed the required fitness markers to be available for the Saturday night clash.

The ruck will be a much-needed inclusion for the Dees, who suffered a disappointing 50-point loss to Fremantle last weekend. The captain provides plenty both on and off the field, his leadership an important element to his game.

Gawn is joined by Taj Woewodin and Bailey Laurie, two young Demons set to inject excitement to Melbourne’s final 23.

Woewodin will bolster the team with versatility and poise while Laurie will add further strength and depth to the side’s midfield contest.

Koltyn Tholstrup (concussion) and Christian Salem (hamstring) have both been forced to the sidelines due to their respective injuries, with Tom Sparrow omitted from the Saturday line-up.

Sparrow joins Kynan Brown and Blake Howes on the team’s emergency list.

Melbourne will be looking to get back on to the winners’ list on Saturday night when it faces GWS, hosting the Giants at the ‘G for the first time since Round 5, 2022.

The first bounce is scheduled for 7:30pm with tickets to the match available here.
