BAILEY LAURIE has signed a new two-year contract extension with Melbourne, taking his term until at least the end of 2026.
The small forward, originally from Diamond Creek, first made his debut in 2023 and managed five games. He will look to increase his game load this year, with a match already under his belt in season 2024.
The 21-year-old impressed over the pre-season, having used the time off to improve his fitness base and ball use. This new deal offers Laurie opportunity to continue to showcase his polish.
Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb spoke highly of Laurie’s desire to improve and commitment to the program.
“As a club, we are really pleased with Bailey’s development, and we are excited he has extended his time with us,” Lamb said.
“Bailey is the ultimate professional, who has improved each year in our program. The work he is putting in with the coaches and high-performance staff gives us great confidence he will continue to grow.
“He possesses high football intelligence, and we look forward to seeing what he can produce in the future.”
The news follows the re-signing of Demon Tom Sparrow and Jed Adams earlier this month.
